The Sam Walker Trio is composed of Sam Walker on guitar, Kyp Green on bass and Roy Snodgrass on drums. They have been playing together in the DFW area since 2001. This is a guitar trio in the tradition of the great guitar trios of Joe Pass, Barney Kessel and Jim Hall, among others. While the trio does perform a fair amount of original material, the majority of the repertoire comes from the long list of standard tunes favored by straight ahead jazzers, with an eye towards the lesser played, more obscure selections among those standards.
